I was really nervous because the party was scheduled to close with my leading the kids in song time. Now, we do song time every day at the end of the day. And for the last 2 weeks it has been a complete disaster...they don't listen to me, they don't sing, they run around, they hit each other. So of course I was really worried as to how it would go in front of the parents! Because especially in the Hagwons it's really important that the parents see their kids doing well, being happy, and speaking English. And the director hasn't been happy with how my class has been going. So the pressure was really on.
But when it came time to do the songs, the kids all did an AWESOME job! I was so proud! They all sang! And did the actions! And stood nicely! During the last song my little Kevin was being pretty bouncy but it was ok. I was so so happy! It went perfectly. The parents were happy. The kids were happy. And the director was happy! I really needed those brownie points.
So anyway, here are some pictures of the kids in their Halloween costumes. Oh, I should mention that no, they do not have Halloween in Korea. But since it's an English school, part of their lessons are learning about American culture so we are introducing all the holidays to them. Oh joy. I get to go through that again for Christmas.
I caught Hanni almost SMILING! He never smiles. He was angry with me for sneaking it.
And here are my 2 favorite students in a picture that I think captures them perfectly:

I was expecting more creepy.
Hi Tracy -
Just wanted you to know that I've been reading your blog. Your dad said that I had to leave a message. It looks like you're having a great experience there. Very good pictures!
Eric
Do you have to teach them ALL the American holidays or just the real ones? You know, there are some real stretches to declare different things a holiday. But then if I named names, that wouldn't be PC.
Keep up the good work!
They all look so cute. Did you have to come up with the costumes?
Glad the singing went well for you. They must be absorbing even if they are disruptive. Grandma H
