I was just glad I didn't have to perform! It was enough having people give me strange looks wondering why the Waygook was standing in the back taking pictures.
Afterward I helped clean up and said hi to some of the kids, then I went home. I wasn't feeling all that well today so I didn't get a chance to talk to 최 청 배 much, except to tell him I thought the performance went well. I don't know what it's called...performance? Exhibition? Recital? lol...Anyway you get the idea.
Here are some pictures. And yes you can finally see 최 청 배. Although some of these pics didn't turn out real well, and sadly none of my covert closeups of him did. I need to learn how to actually use my point and shoot's functionality.
Someday soon perhaps I will get a picture of myself in my Taekwondo uniform and I'll share it with you. But for now, enjoy the pics of the kids.
So here they all are at the beginning of the program:
The little one in back with the white belt is my Kindy student, Kevin. He was so cute! I sat by his family and he kept waving at us and making faces.
Here is 최 청 배! It's not a very good picture :(
The girl in the front here is Rachel. She goes to our academy and she and the boy next to her, and one other girl always come up and talk to me during my free hour and Rachel helps me practice my Taekwondo moves.
You can't really tell from the picture, but the kids are kicking a board in half while jumping rope.
For this one they ran and jumped onto the blue blocks and jumped off it to break the board.
For this one they ran and jumped over the 4 kids on the floor to break the board at the end. It was pretty cool!
Here is a video of the little kids breaking boards. My student Kevin is the last one..
And here's one more video of some of the kids showing their front and back kicks. I can do this too. It actually looks way more awesome when I do it. Plus you get a clearer image of 최 청 배! The guy in the suit is the other master who I refer to as 'the older master', even though he's only like 35. I can't remember his name...ru yang yan? Luckily in Korea you pretty much never address people by their names so I don't really need to know! Anyway here's the video..
So now you can visualize the Dojang where I spend most of my spare time! Hope you enjoyed this multimedia presentation. Someday I'll put up a video of me doing some kicks. Maybe after I get my black belt...
