Well, this evening Derek, Kevin and I went up to the rooftop of a building down the block to take some pictures of the 'hood. It was a bit hazy so you couldn't see real far, but you get the idea.
Here:
First, this block of buildings in the foreground is my old neighborhood. Find the building with the red banner in the second row, and go 2 streets in. That was my place.

These next two illustrate the proximity of North Korea. I'm trying to show with my compass that I"m facing north. In the pictures you can't really see it, but there's a mountain that's visible that I'm pretty sure is North Korea. It's only about 15 miles away.

Well, the rest is more of the same really. The tall buildings are pretty much all apartment buildings, unless they have colorful banners on them, then they are businesses or restaurants. You can see how much development is going on here. Also you can see that's it's not a very big area. Until a few years ago it was all farms and people still consider a small town.

This is the bus stop we usually use..

And here am I, showing how I feel about Janggi:

Hope this helps give you an idea of what my neighborhood is like!

Is Janggi another name for Soul or is it like a suburb of Soul? Is it winter? Groung looks barren. Just returned from Amy Uminiski's wedding in Pittsburgh. Aunt Ruth Fischer had microscopic back surgery today on a lower disk. Grandma H
Janggi is the name of my neighborhood/section of Gimpo, which is a NW suburb of Seoul.
It's called Janggi-dong, which is like Janggi village. Does that make sense?
